IMT H13 metal powder 15-53 μm, 5 kg
IMT H13 is a high-strength metal powder based on iron, designed for 3D printing using SLM and LPBF technologies. It is used in the production of components for pressure die casting, extrusion, hot stamping, as well as high-load parts for heavy machinery. The material belongs to the class of tool steels for hot processing and is distinguished by exceptional balance of impact toughness, thermal fatigue resistance, and high hardness. The 15–53 μm fraction ensures excellent flowability during the 3D printing process and high density of the structure of finished additive products operating under constant temperature fluctuations. The material is supplied in hermetically sealed containers of 5 kg.
Advantages of H13 powder in 3D printing
- Thermal stability. The ability to fully maintain the original mechanical properties and precise geometry during cyclic heating and cooling.
- Crack formation resistance. High impact toughness of the tool material effectively prevents premature failure of elements under load.
- Printing complex metal shapes. The ability to flawlessly manufacture conformal cooling channels, which is critically important for improving the efficiency of casting molds.
- High density of the structure. Optimal granulometric distribution of particles ensures the monolithic nature of the layers without the formation of internal voids.
Technological properties of H13 powder
The metal powder of tool steel from IMT is fully optimized for layer-by-layer laser melting. The alloy contains a significant proportion of chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, which guarantees high hardenability, wear resistance, and the formation of hard carbides. A carbon content of 0.35% ensures the best balance of hardness and toughness of the finished metal.
Taking into account the technological requirements for sintering IMT H13 tool steel, nitrogen is fully certified and permissible environment for operation in the 3D printer chamber. The powder is evenly distributed on the working platform, ensuring a predictable reaction to laser radiation and stability of the mechanical characteristics of parts operating under extreme thermal loads.

Applications
- Pressure die casting. Industrial printing of moving dies, punches, and mold-forming inserts for casting aluminum or magnesium alloys.
- Extrusion. Creation of high-precision dies, specialized dies, and mandrels for extruding metal profiles.
- Hot stamping. Printing of heavy dies and tools for hot metal processing under high pressure.
- High-load parts. Production of strong shafts, axles, and other wear-resistant components for heavy machinery.
