IMT IN718 metal powder 15-53 microns, 5 kg
IMT IN718 is a metal powder of nickel-chromium superalloy, designed for 3D printing using SLM and LPBF technologies. It is used in the production of components for the aviation industry, rocket technology, energy, and the oil and gas industry. The material is distinguished by exceptional tensile strength, fatigue and corrosion resistance, as well as the ability to retain its mechanical properties at temperatures up to 700°C. The 15–53 μm fraction provides Hall flow ≤ 15 s/50g, allowing for the creation of uniform layers and ensuring print stability. The material is supplied in hermetically sealed containers of 5 kg.
Advantages of IN718 powder in 3D printing
- Exceptional heat resistance. The alloy maintains stable mechanical characteristics and high resistance to deformation at working temperatures up to 700°C.
- Maximum purity. The EIGA production method completely excludes contact of molten metal with the lining of the crucible, preventing non-metallic contamination.
- Minimal gas saturation. Crucible-free melting technology reduces the reaction time with residual gases, ensuring low oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen content.
- Morphological perfection. A sphericity index of particles ≥ 90% guarantees uniform distribution of the material and high bulk density.
Technological properties of IN718 powder
The metal powder of the nickel superalloy from IMT is optimized for layer-by-layer laser melting using SLM and LPBF technologies. Production by the EIGA (Electrode Induction Inert Gas Atomization) method ensures high purity of raw materials, which improves the viscosity and fatigue indicators of the finished material.
The composition of the Inconel 718 alloy has a complex multi-component structure, where nickel and iron form a strong matrix, further reinforced by niobium and molybdenum. Thanks to dispersion hardening, the material demonstrates high durability and stability of characteristics from batch to batch, ensuring excellent resistance to fatigue loads and corrosive cracking in extreme operating conditions.
Applications
- Aviation. Production of working blades and turbine discs, combustion chamber elements, and protective engine casings.
- Rocket technology. Production of components for liquid rocket engines and specific fasteners that operate in cryogenic and high-temperature modes.
- Energy. Creation of high-load parts of industrial gas turbines and complex heat exchange equipment.
- Oil and gas industry. Production of specialized tools for deep-sea drilling, resistant to aggressive chemical environments.
