IMT TC4 is a high-tech metallic spherical powder of titanium alloy, which is a direct analogue of the classic Ti6Al4V (Grade 5), designed for 3D printing using SLM and LPBF technologies. It is used in dental 3D printing and for the manufacture of complex orthopedic structures in medicine. The material combines high specific strength, reliable corrosion resistance, and ideal biocompatibility. The 15–53 μm fraction is adapted for flawless reproduction of the finest structures and ensures high accuracy of the geometry of finished products. The material is supplied in hermetic plastic containers of 5 kg.

Technological properties of TC4 powder

The metallic titanium powder from IMT is fully optimized for layer-by-layer laser melting. The alloy composition is based on balanced alloying with aluminum as a strengthener of the alpha phase and vanadium as a stabilizer of the beta phase, which allows achieving high strength indicators of the finished metal while maintaining its plasticity.

Considering the physicochemical features and high activity of titanium, a titanium platform is necessarily used during 3D printing, and the presence of an inert environment based on argon is required in the working chamber. Specialized medical-grade production ensures strict control of gas content, including oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, completely eliminating the risk of embrittlement and internal porosity of parts.
