The Formlabs Fuse 1 Generation Build Chamber Lead Screw Cleaning Kit is designed for cleaning and re-lubricating the Z-axis lead screw of the Fuse 1 and Fuse 1+ 30W printers' working chambers. Regular maintenance of the screw helps maintain smooth movement of the printing platform and stable operation of the Z-axis mechanism.

Function of the kit

The kit is used to remove old contaminated lubricant and powder residues from the lead screw thread, after which new lubricant is applied. According to Formlabs, over time, black deposits from nut wear and powder particles can accumulate in the lubricant. Such contaminants can cause extraneous noise or hinder the normal movement of the printing platform.

When to use

Formlabs recommends cleaning and lubricating the lead screw of the working chamber after every 1000 hours of printing. Maintenance may also be needed if the platform moves intermittently or unusual noise occurs during operation.

Kit contents

The kit includes:

• 1 screw cleaning tool, made by 3D printing;
• 1 container of Magnalube lubricant;
• 1 applicator for distributing the lubricant;
• 2 hex keys.
