Formlabs Alpha White Resin cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1 liter is a white photopolymer resin designed for SLA printing on the Form Studio 1 3D printer. The material belongs to the Alpha Resins series, which Formlabs developed specifically for this platform. The resin is suitable for making models, prototypes, and other white products. It is not compatible with Form 4/4B and Form 4L/4BL printers.

Using Alpha White Resin in Form Studio 1

The standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank is used for printing with this material. The tank is adapted to work with Alpha Resins, so there is no need to use the Resin Tank Pro for this material.

The PreForm program for Alpha White Resin provides two options for layer thickness:

• 50 microns;
• 100 microns.

The available settings allow you to choose one of the printing modes provided by the manufacturer, according to the requirements of a specific task.

Control of material consumption

During printing, Form Studio 1 automatically tracks the use of photopolymer resin. Material consumption is determined by the number of printed layers, and the corresponding data is recorded directly in the cartridge.

According to Formlabs, Alpha Resins materials have a low odor level compared to typical photopolymer resins. This contributes to more comfortable work with the material indoors.

Cleaning and polymerization of models

For washing parts printed with Alpha White Resin, you can use Formlabs Resin Washing Solution.

The initial post-processing parameters for Alpha Resins in the Form Studio Wash+Cure system provide the following stages:

• 5 minutes of washing;
• 5 minutes of polymerization.

After the print is finished, Form Studio 1 displays the recommended post-processing duration for a specific task.

Safety recommendations

When working with Alpha White Resin in a liquid state, it is necessary to use protective gloves and follow the recommendations specified in the material safety data sheet.

The Form Studio 1 + Alpha Resins + VOC Extractor complex has UL GREENGUARD Gold certification, which relates to low levels of chemical emissions. It applies specifically to the use of Alpha Resins materials with the Form Studio 1 printer and the VOC Extractor system.
