Formlabs Fuse 1 10W Laser Assembly

Formlabs Fuse 1 10W Laser Assembly is a service component of the SLS printer's laser system, which generates energy for sintering powdered material. The Fuse 1 uses a laser with a wavelength of 1065 nm and a maximum output power of 10W.

Purpose of the Laser Module

During printing, the laser is directed at a layer of powder and selectively sinters specified areas according to the geometry of the model. The positioning of the laser spot along the X and Y axes is provided by two galvanometers of the printer's optical system.

When Replacement is Needed

The laser module is replaced in case of confirmed malfunction, when the laser system does not provide normal powder sintering or the printer cannot correctly perform printing. Formlabs notes that a malfunction of the laser node can lead to unsuccessful printing or completely prevent its execution.
