ASA filament MonoFilament 1.75 mm 1 kg Black
ASA MonoFilament — is an engineering filament for FDM 3D printing of functional parts used outdoors and exposed to sunlight, moisture, and mechanical loads. The material is an alternative to ABS with improved weather resistance, impact strength, and UV resistance. Suitable for automotive components, construction elements, and technical products.
Advantages and Key Features
- UV resistance: helps maintain its properties and color saturation during prolonged exposure to sunlight.
- Weather resistance: suitable for parts used outdoors.
- Mechanical strength: combines rigidity, hardness, and resistance to dynamic loads.
- Chemical resistance: withstands contact with alcohols, lubricants, diluted acids, gasoline, and many cleaning agents.
- Reliable layer adhesion: ensures the integrity of printed products.
- Low shrinkage: helps reduce the risk of deformation of finished parts.
- Post-processing options: products can be sanded, drilled, glued, painted, and varnished.
Applications
- Automotive industry: manufacturing housing elements, fasteners, protective parts, and other automotive components.
- Construction: printing mounting elements, brackets, housings, and structural parts.
- Outdoor use: creating signs, covers, equipment housings, and other products exposed to sunlight and precipitation.
- Industrial equipment: manufacturing technical components subject to mechanical and dynamic loads.
- Functional prototyping: creating test models and parts for evaluating designs under real operating conditions.
Compatibility with 3D Printers and Materials
ASA MonoFilament is designed for FDM 3D printers that support 1.75 mm diameter filament and are capable of working with high-temperature polymer materials. For printing, it is recommended to use a printer with an enclosed chamber, as a stable temperature inside the build area helps reduce the risk of model deformation and cracking.
Recommended printing settings:
- Extruder temperature: 250–265 °C
- Build plate temperature: 110–120 °C
- Printing speed: 30–80 mm/s
- Part cooling: not required
- Printer type: enclosed
The material is suitable for equipment with a heat-resistant hotend and a heated build plate. To ensure consistent print quality, it is recommended to store the spool in a vacuum container. If bubbles appear during printing or the product surface becomes rough, the manufacturer recommends drying the filament at 60 °C for 5–7 hours.
