Nylon-CF Plastic MonoFilament for Rigid and Loaded Parts
Nylon (PA) plastic CF MonoFilament 1 kg 1.75 mm Black is a reinforced nylon filament for FDM 3D printing, which contains 10% ultra-short carbon fibers. The material combines high rigidity, reduced shrinkage, and shape stability, making it suitable for the manufacture of functional parts that operate under friction, bending, twisting, or compression.

Mechanical and Operational Characteristics
Nylon-CF MonoFilament contains 10% ultra-short carbon fibers, which increase the rigidity of the base polymer and help parts better resist deformation.
The tensile strength is 60 MPa, the relative elongation at break is 50%. The modulus of elasticity in tension and bending reaches 5800 MPa, and the bending strength is 70 MPa.
The mechanical behavior of the finished product depends on its geometry. In thin-walled parts, the tensile strength may be lower, while increasing the thickness of the cross-section positively affects the ability of the part to withstand loads. Shrinkage also depends on the orientation of the fibers and the direction of the layers.
The density of the material is 1.12 g/cm³. The working temperature range of finished products is from -30 to +120°C. Water absorption over 24 hours at a temperature of 23°C is 3%.
Thanks to the carbon filling, the material has antistatic, radio-absorbing, and radio-shielding properties.
3D Printing Parameters
For Nylon-CF, the recommended extruder temperature is 260–270°C, the platform temperature is 110–120°C. The optimal range of printing speed is 30–60 mm/s. Cooling during printing is not required, and for stable operation, it is desirable to use a printer with a closed chamber.
Due to the presence of carbon fiber, the filament has abrasive properties. For it, you should use a nozzle made of hardened steel with a diameter of 0.4 mm. Brass nozzles wear out much faster when working with such material.
Under certain thermal regimes, heating the material above 85°C can enhance the crystallization process and affect the adhesion of the model to the platform. When setting up printing, it is worth considering the temperature inside the chamber, the type of working surface, and the parameters of the first layer.
Drying and Storage Conditions
Nylon actively absorbs moisture, so it is desirable to store the spool in a vacuum or airtight container.
If bubbles appear during extrusion or the surface of the material becomes rough, it is recommended to dry the filament at 60°C for 5–7 hours. The actual drying time may vary depending on the type of dryer and the level of material moisture saturation.
