The Fuse 1+ 30W combines two innovative features that unlock advanced SLS printing capabilities.

Formlabs has incorporated a new inert gas printing feature in the Fuse 1+, utilizing nitrogen in the print chamber to displace unwanted oxygen from the powder sintering environment. As a result, parts produced with the Fuse 1+ are less brittle and exhibit improved ductility, making them ideal for end-use components, particularly in demanding environments such as the automotive or aerospace industries. Compatible nitrogen generators are readily available for purchase, and our sales team can provide recommended models.

The controlled atmosphere also enhances the sintering process for Nylon 11 Powder and Nylon 11 CF Powder, better protecting the green powder from oxidation and allowing for its reuse in subsequent print runs. This leads to increased recyclability of the powder; combined with optimal packing density, it enables a waste-free printing workflow. Without an inert gas atmosphere, Nylon 11 and Nylon 11 CF powders have a 50% refresh rate, necessitating the use of 50% recycled and 50% fresh powder for each new cartridge. In a nitrogen environment, this refresh rate improves by up to 30% for both materials.
