Formlabs Alpha Grey Resin cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1L — is a grey photopolymer resin from the Alpha Resins series, designed for use with the Form Studio 1 3D printer. The material is suitable for SLA printing of models, prototypes, and other grey products.

Physical properties of Alpha Grey Resin

Alpha Grey Resin version V1 has a density of 1.08 g/cm³ and a dynamic viscosity of 650 cP at 25 °C. These characteristics determine the physical properties of the material.

In the PreForm program for this resin, print profiles with a layer thickness of 50 μm and 100 μm are available. This allows you to choose the appropriate mode depending on the requirements for the finished model.

Compatibility with the Form Studio 1 system

For printing Alpha Grey Resin, the standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank is used. The tank film is optimized for working with Alpha Resins materials, so there is no need to install a Resin Tank Pro for this material.

During printing, Form Studio 1 automatically controls the resin consumption based on the printed layers. Data on the used material is stored in the cartridge.

Alpha Grey Resin belongs to the specialized Alpha Resins line, designed for Form Studio 1. The material is not compatible with Form 4/4B and Form 4L/4BL 3D printers.

Cleaning and post-processing

For cleaning products printed with Alpha Grey Resin, you can use the Formlabs Resin Washing Solution. The basic processing cycle for Alpha Resins materials in the Form Studio Wash+Cure system includes 5 minutes of washing and 5 minutes of polymerization.

After the printing is finished, Form Studio 1 shows the recommended post-processing time for a specific task, helping to determine the duration of cleaning and polymerization of products.

Alpha Resins materials use components with a low odor level, making working with the resin more comfortable indoors. Protective gloves must be used when in contact with the liquid material.

The Form Studio 1 + Alpha Resins + VOC Extractor system is UL GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions. The certification applies specifically to this combination of printer, material, and filtration system.
