A Complete Workflow for Dental LT Comfort Resin
Follow this validated workflow to successfully produce high-quality, biocompatible splints and night guards using Dental LT Comfort Resin.
Step 1: Design the Appliance
Use your preferred dental CAD software to design the splint. For best results, maintain a minimum occlusal surface thickness of 2.0 mm and a minimum wall thickness of 1.5 mm. When finished, export the design as an STL or OBJ file.
Step 2: Print the Appliance
Import the design file into PreForm. Choose "Dental LT Comfort" as the material and set the layer height to 100 microns. For an optimal balance of accuracy and speed, orient the part with the occlusal surface angled between 10 and 30 degrees from the build platform. Always use a dedicated, clean resin tank and build platform to ensure biocompatibility.
Step 3: Wash the Printed Part
Place the printed appliance into a Form Wash with isopropyl alcohol (IPA, ≥96%) and run a 5-minute wash cycle. This will remove all uncured resin from the surface. Avoid exceeding the recommended wash time to protect the part's dimensional accuracy.
Step 4: Dry the Part
After washing, remove the appliance and let it air dry for at least 30 minutes. Use compressed air to expedite drying if needed. The part must be completely dry and non-tacky before moving to the post-curing stage.
Step 5: Post-Cure for Final Properties
Place the clean, dry part into a Form Cure and run a cycle at 60 °C for 60 minutes. This step is mandatory to achieve the material's full mechanical strength and to ensure it is fully biocompatible and safe for patient use.
Step 6: Finish and Polish to Perfection
Begin by removing the support structures with a cutting disc. To achieve a high-gloss, transparent finish, use a two-step polishing process. First, pre-polish the surface with a rag wheel and fine pumice. Then, use a dry rag wheel with a polishing compound to bring the appliance to a final, crystal-clear state.
