3D Printer Metal3D MetalSys 300 is a high-performance mid-range SLM system designed for fast and efficient production of complex metal parts, press molds, high-precision tools, and large prototypes. The use of Powder Bed Fusion technology allows for the growth of integral products with high detail without the limitations inherent in traditional mechanical processing. The 300 × 300 × 400 mm build platform ensures high productivity for both large element printing (working wheels, impellers) and mass small and medium series production of parts with complex geometry, lattice structures, and internal channels.
Design features and parameters of Metal3D MetalSys 300
- Powerful laser system: equipped with two fiber lasers with a power of 500 W or 1000 W in the base configuration (with the option to expand to 4 lasers) to increase the rate of production and scale processes.
- High speed and accuracy of scanning: a system with vibrating mirrors and a high-precision digital encoding grating lens provides a scanning speed of up to 10 m/s, positioning < 2 μrad, and linearity 99.9%.
- Flexible focusing: adjustable laser spot size (50–200 μm) allows for high precision detailing of small elements and high speed filling.
- Platform thermal stabilization: heating the worktable in the range of 0–200 °C reduces internal stresses in the metal during layer formation.
- Powder feed and circulation system: implemented double-sided application of powder material and a closed circulation system (0–2 m³) with multi-layer air curtain protection for the stability of each layer.
- High precision of the Z-axis: the resolution on the Z-axis is 1 μm, which allows forming layers with a thickness from 0.02 to 0.15 mm (20–150 μm).
- Integrated filtration system: high-efficiency cleaning of the working environment (99.9% for particles > 0.5 μm) creates safe working conditions.
- Variety of scanning modes: support for Checkerboard, honeycomb, octagonal, strip, parallel lines strategies, etc.
Working with a protective environment and materials
- Gas protection: the working chamber is filled with inert gas (Argon or Nitrogen) to protect against oxidation during melting.
- Wide range of materials: the printer is designed to work with aluminum and titanium alloys, stainless and tool steel, cobalt-chrome, nickel, and superalloys.
Control of work processes and software
The printing process control and file preparation are performed using the Free Fastfab software (supporting STL, STEP, SLC, CLI file formats). For advanced tasks, integration with VoxelDance Additive or Materialise Magics software is possible.
The power supply system is designed for an industrial network of 380 V (3 phases) with a maximum consumed power of 10 kW.
