PLA (polylactide) is an eco-friendly, biodegradable plastic made from renewable sources like corn. Its physical properties resemble those of ABS, being a hard and brittle polymer, but with greater stiffness. Plexiwire PLA stands out with its minimal shrinkage and excellent interlayer adhesion, similar to ABS+. Models printed with Plexiwire PLA adhere well to the print bed even without heating, ensuring high-quality results.

Being biodegradable, PLA has a limited lifespan. Plexiwire PLA is not suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure, direct sunlight, or acidic environments, as thin-walled models may degrade quickly. Like any thermoplastic, Plexiwire PLA should be dried properly before use to achieve the best printing results. One of its key benefits is safety during use: it emits no harmful substances when heated and has no unpleasant odor. This makes it an excellent choice for home printing, poorly ventilated spaces, or areas with children. Additionally, it works perfectly with 3D pens.
