ABS Flex filament Monofilament 1.75 mm 1 kg Transparent
Monofilament ABS flex is a filament based on a modified ABS polymer that combines mechanical strength, flexibility, and high impact resistance. Thanks to its elastic structure, printed parts feature increased wear resistance and withstand contact with oils and greases. The special material formulation provides strong layer adhesion, reduces the risk of cracking during use, and allows the fabrication of functional parts with a heat deflection temperature of up to 90 °C.
Material Advantages
- Elasticity and impact resistance. The plastic combines flexibility with the ability to return to its original shape after deformation, enabling it to withstand dynamic and mechanical loads.
- Printing comfort. The filament has no harsh or unpleasant odour during melting, nor does it produce such an odour in finished products during use.
- Low water absorption. A value of up to 0.04% indicates minimal moisture absorption from the air, contributing to consistent print quality and reducing the need for extensive pre-drying.
- Chemical resistance. The filament withstands contact with most greases, oils, alcohols, and acids, making it suitable for use in technical and industrial environments.
- Frost resistance. Printed parts retain their physical and mechanical properties and do not become brittle even at temperatures as low as −80 °C.
- Simple post-processing. The surface of finished parts can be chemically smoothed with solvents, such as D-limonene. This helps achieve a smooth, glossy finish and a more seamless appearance of the components.
Application Areas
- Automotive industry and repair. The material is suitable for producing and replacing automotive components: seals, dampers, protective boots, brackets, and other cabin and under-the-bonnet parts that come into contact with oils, greases, and fuel.
- Functional components and moving mechanisms. Thanks to its flexibility, the filament can be used to print prototypes and working elements of complex mechanisms. It is well-suited for parts that bend or experience friction, including hinges, flexible couplings, gears, clips, and damping components.
- Specialist footwear and protective gear. Abrasion resistance and the ability to absorb impacts make it possible to manufacture soles for safety footwear, protective pads, elements of workwear, ergonomic tool grips, and other items for use in demanding conditions.
Compatibility with 3D Printers and Equipment
The material is compatible with most open and enclosed FDM 3D printers that support 1.75 mm diameter filament.
