Formlabs Fuse 1 Build Chamber
Formlabs Fuse 1 Build Chamber is an essential component of the Formlabs SLS 3D printing ecosystem. This is where the actual model creation occurs. Using modular chambers and cartridges minimizes equipment downtime. Establish a seamless iterative workflow by transferring modular Build Chambers and Powder Cartridges between the Fuse 1 and Fuse Sift.
Each Fuse 1 Printer Package comes with one Build Chamber compatible with the Fuse 1 and Fuse Sift. By purchasing an additional Build Chamber, you can begin a new print immediately after the previous one finishes. Once printing is complete, detach the Build Chamber from the Fuse 1 and place it in the Fuse Sift for cooling, part removal, and powder disposal.
SLS 3D Printing Workflow in Fuse 1
- Nylon powder, heated to near melting point, is spread in a thin layer on a movable work platform inside the Build Chamber.
- A laser scans the 3D model's cross-section, melting the powder and fusing the polymer particles into a solid part. Unused powder supports the model throughout the process, eliminating the need for additional support structures.
- The platform lowers by one layer, ranging from 50 to 200 microns, and this process repeats for each layer until the print job is complete.
