Elegoo Centauri 2 3D Printer with Automatic Calibration and CoreXY Kinematics
Elegoo Centauri 2 — is an FDM printer with CoreXY kinematics, designed for producing models from PLA, PETG, PLA-CF, and TPU, with a build volume of 256 × 256 × 256 mm, printing speed of up to 500 mm/s, and automatic calibration. A rigid cast aluminum frame, a nozzle heated up to 350 °C, a print process monitoring system, and automatic leveling simplify equipment preparation and help maintain consistent results.

High-Speed Printing Based on CoreXY
Elegoo Centauri 2 is built using a CoreXY kinematic system. Two 4260-size stepper motors are used for movement along the X and Y axes, while the maximum movement speed during printing reaches 500 mm/s. The recommended speed is 250 mm/s. Standard acceleration is 10,000 mm/s², while the maximum is 20,000 mm/s².
To maintain mechanical stability during rapid movements, the printer features a cast aluminum frame and metal linear guides. Three lead screws and three linear guides are used along the Z axis. The drives of all axes operate with silent drivers.
The printing accuracy for Centauri 2 is ±0.1 mm, while the available layer thickness is from 0.1 to 0.4 mm. The recommended layer thickness is 0.2 mm.
Automatic Calibration and Preparation for Printing
Centauri 2 is equipped with a fully automatic calibration system that reduces the number of manual adjustments before starting operation. The automatic leveling system analyzes the platform using 121 points. Partial leveling is also available, where only the area of the platform on which a specific model will be located is checked.
Automatic Z-axis offset adjustment determines the required nozzle height relative to the build surface for forming the first layer. To improve movement stability, the printer also uses active vibration compensation and Pressure Advance calibration.
Print Process Monitoring
Elegoo Centauri 2 is equipped with 15 intelligent sensors for monitoring the printing process.
The available functions include:
- filament runout detection;
- clog detection;
- automatic filament unloading;
- fan self-check;
- detection of reduced model cooling fan performance;
- platform overheating protection;
- print recovery after power loss;
- cutter mechanism status check.
Extruder and Temperature Range
The printer is equipped with a dual-gear direct-drive extruder that works with 1.75 mm filament. The standard nozzle diameter is 0.4 mm, while the maximum heating temperature is 350 °C.
The build platform can be heated up to 110 °C at an ambient temperature of 25 °C. The permissible operating ambient temperature range is from 5 to 40 °C.
For cleaning the nozzle before printing, a high-temperature silicone nozzle cleaner rated for temperatures up to 350 °C is provided. The magnetic printhead cover simplifies access to the nozzle during maintenance or replacement.
Build Platform
Elegoo Centauri 2 comes with a double-sided flexible spring steel sheet. One side has a textured PEI coating, while the other has a specialized surface for PLA. The platform size is 260 × 260 mm, while the available build volume is 256 × 256 × 256 mm.
Compatible Materials
The following materials are recommended for Elegoo Centauri 2:
- PLA;
- PETG;
- PLA-CF;
- TPU.
At the same time, ABS, ABS-CF, ASA, ASA-CF, PET, PET-CF, PETG-CF, PA, PA-CF, and PC are not recommended for this model. This is important to consider when choosing a printer for working with high-temperature and engineering materials.
Ready for Multicolor Printing
The printer design provides for a future upgrade for multicolor printing using the ELEGOO CANVAS system, which is sold separately.
Control and Software
A 5-inch color capacitive touchscreen display is provided for controlling the printer. Elegoo Centauri 2 runs on ELEGOO OS and supports data transfer via USB and Wi-Fi.
For model preparation, ElegooSlicer is recommended. Compatibility with Orca and Cura is also supported.

The output format for printing is G-code.
The Elegoo ecosystem also includes the Nexprint platform with ready-made 3D models and the ability to transfer models to ElegooSlicer.

The semi-automatic belt tensioning mechanism ensures optimal tension and helps reduce vibrations during printhead movement.
The magnetic attachment of the printhead cover provides quick access to the nozzle, while its cleaning system helps remove material residue before printing begins.
